DiversIT: Women in IT

The upcoming DiversIT edition once again focuses on perspectives that illuminate what often remains unseen in the tech world: the power of diversity, the importance of shifting our narratives, and the role of responsible technology in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

This edition brings together three thematic impulses – from re‑examining cultural and historical symbols to explore how emotions can become a source of female agency; to reflecting on representation and the stories that shape who feels welcome in tech; to unpacking bias and fairness challenges in AI systems, particularly in healthcare.

Together, these contributions create a space for dialogue, reflection, and inspiration: How can we design technology in more human‑centered ways? What conditions allow diversity to become a true driver of innovation? And what responsibility do we all share in shaping a tech ecosystem where different perspectives are not just included, but defining?

DiversIT invites everyone to explore these questions with openness, courage, and a shared commitment to shaping a more inclusive future.

Review 7. DiversIT: Women in IT

What an incredible DiversIT edition!

It’s hard to put into words what made this one so special – the authenticity, the honesty, and the feeling of true connection throughout the friday aufternoon. It was an absolute safe space where people could share openly, listen deeply, and truly see each other.

The variety of topics was amazing – from leadership and neurodiversity to empathy, communication, and cultural awareness. Every impulse brought new perspectives and sparked meaningful conversations that continued long after the talks ended.

A huge thank-you to our wonderful host PRISMA European Capacity Platform for providing the perfect space and atmosphere, and to our inspiring speakers Cupcake Volny, Jana Schumann, Janka Kreißl and Kristina Seibel. And a special Thanks to Marlucio Alberto Pereira and Victoria Schuster for the perfect cooperation.
.
And of course – thank you Marielouise Busch and Romy Wuttke for your energy and heart!

We even had guests traveling all the way from Hamburg and Kassel – proof that this community is growing beyond regions, powered by trust, curiosity, and the wish to learn from one another.

Review 6. DiversIT: Women in IT

At the end of August we gathered at Lancaster University Leipzig for our Summer Security Special Edition of DiversIT – Women in IT. The day was filled with inspiring impulses from speakers who showed, each in their own way, that there is no single “right” path into IT or cybersecurity. Whether through technical expertise, compliance and governance, cultural change, or awareness work – all journeys matter, and all contributions strengthen our industry.

We are especially grateful to our keynote speakers Charlotte Christensen & Vicky Sorge, who reminded us how important it is to step into the room, take the space we deserve while owning our stories, and not to forget support one another along the way.

What started as an initiative to make career paths in IT and security more visible is now becoming something bigger: a movement with its own energy. The initiator of this format put it best in the closing words – it is wonderful to see how DiversIT is beginning to organize itself and how the community is taking ownership.

Thank you to all speakers, participants, and partners who made this Summer Security Special possible. The conversations, openness, and willingness to share experiences truly embody the spirit of DiversIT.

This is only the beginning – and we are looking forward to seeing where the community will take it next.
